Achieving the long, feathering lines on the cape can be tricky for a novice. Here are a few pointers:

• This kind of feathering works best with a brush, and the stroke should be done quickly.

• Try to identify which muscles you use to make the stroke. When you’re confident, try it on your final inking.

• Turn your drawing in a way that works best for an easy stroke. Your inking will be better when you move the drawing to get the best position.
